The Slog of NIL Social



During our market research phase we interviewed coaches, athletes, administrators, lawyers, and small business owners. Inevitably these conversations led to a product feature release. This is the first of several conversations that reflect what we heard and why we decided to develop and release the feature as part of our NILGPT solution.


But first, what is NILGPT? you ask. NILGPT is an AI bot that is specifically trained to verify queries against university NIL policies, state NIL regulations, and the NCAA NIL guidelines. Generative AI and the use of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) allow us to provide the latest reference documents or 'records of truth' when connecting with LLM to fulfill responses for our users. NILGPT is available anytime across any device and is also available as a white-label service for NIL Educators and Agents.


Now back to the slog. We were introduced to a UC San Diego baseball player. This athlete was not only a starter but also a STEM honor student and by all accounts on 'the list' to be recruited to MLB. During our interview, we discussed many common challenges that athletes face but the one that stood out to us at the time and the one that we decided to build was content creation. The athlete expressed the requirement in terms of dropping an endorsement because he could not keep up with the activity expectations of the brand. Specifically, this particular beverage brand wanted the athlete to post every week, and if he did so, they would continue to provide him with an inventory of their product. This deal was fine as a first deal, but this particular athlete had up to 5 active deals and most paid cash, and none of the other brands required a weekly post. The challenge wasn't in pushing the 'POST' button, but in coming up with creative and authentic content for the post.


This conversation led to NILGPT social media script creation prompt. This feature allows creators to quickly generate compliant and brand-relevant scripts for their social media posts. Automating the sometimes tedious content creation process is one-way that we seek to democratize NIL so that all athletes across all sports can excel in their pursuit of NIL opportunities.
