Scouting for Influencers

During our market analysis phase, we spoke with several small retail brands located in college towns. One specific discussion with a retailer with licensing rights to the university brand stood out, and based on that discussion we developed Influencer Scout as part of our NIL Agent Desktop.

Influencer Scout allows an agent or marketer to apply parameter-based search augmented with generative AI to uncover prospective athlete influencers for their brand's marketing efforts. Unlike other common search methods that use predefined data attributes to filter through a list of names Influencer Scout also incorporates lifestyle or affinity attributes, a fungible brand marketing value score, and a rank-reasoning description to assist the marketer with choosing the most appropriate influencers for their brand.

Let's consider an example; a large beverage company in Georgia is looking to allocate ~$1M across the SEC conference for a given sport and season. The SEC conference consists of 14 universities, each with its specific NIL policies and regulations, and as of this writing 9 State NIL laws, and 7100 potential athletes across the conference. This complexity is one reason brands rely on consultants and agencies to support their collegiate marketing efforts. Unfortunately, this complexity contributes to the small participation rate by athletes, as the agencies also struggle with the volume of data that is required to assess all the rules, regulations, and athletes to uncover the influencer 'diamond in the rough' to represent their customer's long-term influencer marketing goals and objectives. This is precisely why we developed Influencer Scout. Check out the Influencer Scout overview demo video below.

In a recent HBR article, Professor Kimberly A. Whitler and Graham Twente highlight 'How marketers choose college athlete influencers' and specifically how brands look beyond follower count to find influencers. At CIMS.AI designed Influencer Scout to automate the process of finding the 'diamond in the rough' influencer that agents and brands can nurture to become the best brand ambassadors.

About NIL

The meaning of NIL or Name, Image, Likeness is the right for an individual ‘influencer’ to monetize their Name, Image, and Likeness. Historically, Media and Professional Sports Celebrities have worked with talent marketing agencies to take advantage of this monetization opportunity.
